Dear Keith,
This letter is very late and for that I apologize. It just seems that so many things
get the way. But I should have written long ago to tell you what a wonderful time my son Benjamin and I had
fishing with you in Alberta.
Since it had rained so much that the rivers were too high, you took us to a lake out
of the way that was full of walleye and northern pike. Neither of us had ever fished for these before, but
were we in for a treat. You were an excellent teacher and before long we were catching a lot of fish even
though it was raining. It turned out to be a great day in spite of the weather. Benjamin had never caught
a fish more than six inches long and he caught some 2 or 3 pounders. It was one of the best days in his life.
And for that I am most grateful. Benjamin was fascinated with your fish finder. He likes anything electronic.
You sure know your business about finding the fish.
On a clear day, the lake would have been like glass and I can imagine how serene the
setting would have been. Watching the loon disappear and reappear on the lake was fun too.
You have given us both a wonderful memory to share, and sent us the pictures to prove it.
We plan to enlarge the one of Benjamin with the big pike and frame it for his room. He'll have a story to tell for
a long time. You know, maybe that is what we really paid for--besides a great time--some unforgettable memories.
The lunch Heather prepared was wonderful. Benjamin and I especially liked the slaw salad.
He rarely eats anything like that and he loved it. The puffed wheat dessert was also delicious and we regretted
we forgot the leftover after we started telling my wife and daughter about the day.
You are a very congenial host and we would recommend you to anyone who really likes to
fish--even beginners like us. You have a superb knowledge of the area, a real sweet boat, great tackle, a lot of
patience, and a good sense of humor. If you need some fans, we'd like to head the list.
The next time we come, you'll be the one we call. Thanks again Keith, for
a memorable trip. All the best to you and your family.
